Snorre is our Norwegian founder, and he is convinced that we develop as we share knowledge in this changing world. That is why his hunt for knowledge and insight, as well as creativity and entrepreneurship, hasn’t diminished as he’s grown older; having a 20-year long career behind him. He has studied at 5 college and university institutions, parts of his studies have been on PhD and master level, and he has worked at 3 university institutions: the Latvian Academy of Culture, the University of Latvia and the University of Bergen. Bridging different cultures through languages, he has translated various books, parts of books, articles and poems, held seminars for teachers of Scandinavian languages in Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Slovakia and Hungary and organised a wide variety of events related to literature, music, theatre, film, art and folklore. He created the Centre for Scandinavian Studies at the Latvian Academy of Culture, took the initiative to found the language enterprise Nordisk in Latvia, as well as its sister-company in Lithuania. He also took part in establishing the Latvian company Vardu vārti (Gate of Words), engaged in translation and publishing activities. And last but not least is this project, focused on Nordic businesses and making bridges and meaningful digital stories in this exciting internet-empowered era.
Snorre can also sing amazingly well - he might actually be one of the best singing Scandinavian language experts :) He also loves to organise music evenings, gathering his friends to sing together in different languages a few times a year.
